Ethyl Maltol Crystals by Flavor Apprentice is a popular flavoring extract known for its sweet, cotton candy-like taste. The flavor profile of Ethyl Maltol Crystals is characterized by its sugary, caramelized notes with hints of fruity undertones. It offers a delightful combination of sweetness and subtle fruitiness that enhances the overall flavor of a dish or beverage. When using Ethyl Maltol Crystals in culinary recipes, it is recommended to start with a low percentage, as it is a potent flavoring extract. A starting percentage of around 0.5-1% is ideal for achieving a balanced flavor profile without overpowering other ingredients. It is important to taste the dish or beverage as you add the extract to determine the desired level of sweetness and adjust accordingly. Experimenting with different percentages will help you find the perfect balance for your recipe.
This arrives in powder form.

Great for use in many fruit or berry flavors where you don’t want a “jammy” taste.Contrary to a couple posts, you will need a 10% EM solution. The Easiest way without a lot of math is add your EM crystals so a measured container *I will use a 60ml syringe* and then add PG *or vg if desired* and fill to the, in my case, 60 ml marker. Empty into a larger container *say 120ml* then measure another 40ml PG and add to the 120ml container. This will yield EXACTLY 100ml for EXACTLY 10% EM OR..PG dilutant90.00 ml93.24 grams90.00 %EM Crystals10 grams (also happens to be 10ml)10% Yield 10% Em solution (most commonly used on e liquid recipe calculators)
